While it is true that I am not a member of the "media" anymore, I do believe, as a humble blogger, that it is still my "duty," as it were, to keep readers apprised of certain news items and developments as pertains to the realm of "entertainment"--especially that of the "electronic" variety.
It is for that reason that I alert you to the following item, which will be of interest to any and all of those with the technolust to have each and every new gadget that arrives on the market. And because this new device is from Sony, arguably one of the biggest companies on this or any other planet, its of even greater interest.
Gentlepeople, get your pocketbooks ready! (Oh, and this is decidedly NSFW. Be warned! :))
Thank you for posting this, I'm on my way to the store now.
ReplyDeletePS- I was afraid this was going to be about Killzone 2.

ReplyDeleteSONY = Form Over Function
Except their TVs. Sony still make decent TVs. No DRM on the TVs. Yet.
Fill me on the l337 lingo...what does "NSFW" mean?
ReplyDeleteNot Suitable For Women?
Not Suitable For Wee-ones?
Not Suitable For Windows?
I played the video while the kids were just outside my office playing Wii and about 10 seconds in after F***, S****Y, and other colorful commentary my 3 year old daughter came running in in the hopes of capitalizing on some new vocabulary. Had to immediately kill the vid.
Win.
Oh, and the poster above: Sony equals form over function? You got that right. Blu-Ray vs. HD DVD? I loathe in buying into Sony technology. I'm pissed at spending hundreds in Minidisc. Don't get me started on the Betamax debacle.
Haha, so good, thank you Jeff!
ReplyDeleteBut this one from shawn elliott is even more priceless.

ReplyDeleteTo be honest I don't really get what this video is trying to say in relation to Sony. Is this video really about Sony or just directed at the general electronics industry? Anecdotal evidence aside, has Sony ever had a malfunction PR debacle on the level of something like RRoD?
ReplyDeleteWhere do i have to sign up?

ReplyDeleteReminds me of when my uncle bought a Sony home theater system and asked me to set it up for him. He had a Sony Bravia TV, a sony receiver, and still the damn thing didn't work until we called customer service and they gave me directions that were located nowhere in the book. You would think it would be pretty simple, especially when you had the directions in front of you and had read them thoroughly.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I build computers, I fix computers, so I have an idea of what I'm doing.

NSFW = Not Safe For Work.
These Onion vids are really professional, and hilarious. The one on the death penalty had me in tears. Great satire.
I wonder how they pay for that high quality production?
