Busy. That's where I am. I'll have a proper blog about it, kind of a Part II to my previous entry, as soon as I come up for air. Or at least after the three hours of Lost I'm watching tonight. A man can't work all the time.
Speaking of hard-working men, I know some of you have been waited with bated Dorito breath for some kind of comment from me about Our New President. I'll do that too, maybe, but, in the meantime, please to be enjoying this LOL-worthy photo I found over at good ol' Quarter to Three. Pretty much for WoW nerds only, so apologies if this means nothing to you. Otherwise, enjoy. And I will talk at you again oh so very soon.
Oh, and click to enlarge to actually see the dang thing.

*cackle* Where would we be without your GIF-links? I salute you.
I like how he's apparently a shadow priest
What'd you think of the premiere?
About the swearing in ceremony:
If you head on over to Utube and watch the actual one minute clip of Obama taking the oath of office, and then read the comments below, you'll see that most people seem to think Obama screwed up - but of course he didn't.
It was the judge who screwed up. Ya know - that white guy.
The oath of office is as follows: "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."
(Yup, I Googled that).
The word 'faithfully' in that sentence was placed incorrectly by the judge. Barrack paused when he reached that part of the sentence, and smiled, and patiently nodded at the judge, meaning to say, you got it wrong, put the word faithfully here.
People watching the ceremony thought that Barrack had paused, not to allow the judge to correct his mistake, but because he had forgotten what the judge had said.
Some of the comments in the comments section at Utube, are searing, and would blister the hairs off a dog's back - it's further evidence that The United States still has very deep racial problems, even though they have managed to elect their first African American president.
I mean, it's one thing to read somebody posting a comment along the lines of "... the stupid nigger couldn't even get the oath right..." but it's entirely another to see that the entire section is filled with such comments.
The Goose.
(Keep blogging, Jeff. Don't allow those fine writing skills of yours to dry up on you.)
Kind of off topic, but have you been eating vegetarian chili and drinking lemonade for like the past two weeks? That can't be good for your health....
That was an awesome picture. The quest was especially funny. What'd you think of the Lost premiere?
When I saw the swearing in, I too thought that he'd screwed up, although I wasn't exactly paying attention (it was 9 in the morning for goodness sakes; no sane person is up at that hour). Roberts screwed up; it was his first inauguration as well. They DID readminister the Oath.
I wasn't a supporter Obama, but I can truthfully say that it had nothing to do with race; rather, his political views. I now support him because he's the only one who can give Congress a good kick in the ass, and get us going in the right direction.
Yep, the Chief Justice screwed up the swearing in. Which is why Obama hesitated and then fumbled himself after: because he *knew* that Roberts blew it, and was trying to course-correct him.
Of course, any chance that racist a-holes have a chance to be racist a-holes, they'll take it. The great thing is, it's too bad for them. Obama is president whether they like it or not. And most of the country (and world) are rooting for him.
I've been waiting for eight years to say this to all those Bush supporters who liked to gloss over the whole 2000 fiasco with the stolen election who are now seething over Obama:
*Ahem
"Get over it."
Have you been eating vegetarian chili and lemonade for the past week?
Wife must be outta town...
Software testing is in full swing at my company (non-gaming). I've been busy busy to. I've been jonesing hard for RTS's again. I'm just trying to find some time to play a few games. I've dl'd RA3 for the 360 but haven't tried it yet. I have been playing some Rise of Nations and Age of Mythologies. Along with demos of AgeIII and World in Conflict. Yeah I'm LTTP.
I didn't catch much of the inaugural stuff unfortunately. Its been fun however seeing stories in the press about Celeb prima-donas whining about the Secret Service making them walk places instead of driving up to right where the President was at or when J Lo and Mark Antony showed up late to a ball and almost didn't get in because they showed up after Obama and the place was in lock-down with him there. Funny stuff.
I have good feelings about the new President. Hell he can't do any worse than the old one.
ZOMG can you even believe how good Lost was last night? I was completely flabbergasted! All of my flabber was 100% gasted.
"Maybe if you ate more comfort food you wouldn't have to go around shooting people."
Oh God, I really did just eat Doritos before reading this
Jeff Green is my constant.
What would the head of Palin look like when it's looted? Winking, or is that too obvious?
McCain is definitely http://tinyurl.com/7b9nl9
That oh so pretty achievement-popup has itched into my brain, telling me to look for it, see the reason for it and feel good about myself for having done this great deed.
BTW, did I /grats you people for successfully voting for a seemingly decent president for once? ;)
What a great picture. What a mess Bush has made of things. Obama has many good intentions, but I fear how difficult its going to be. At least we have someone in the office we can finally root for.
jeff, miss you. never posted a blog comment in my life but i wish you would do a new podcast...

I wasn't an Obama supporter but if you have any sense of improving the health of America, you have to root for him despite your political leanings.
And I'd root huge because he has his work cut out for him to correct not only the mistakes of the previous administration but of the gluttonous credit-based economy that has nearly ruined us.
@Slashdot
Agreed. I don't agree with a lot of his policies/ideology, but I'm rooting for him since November 4th, simply because he is now the president. Whether you agree with him or not, its time for all Americans to support him and his efforts to improve America.

I passed that screenshot around work today to fellow gamer geeks. I thought it was funny. Yet the majority of people responded, amazed that WoW was still relevant. They had moved on to bigger and better mmos (well, maybe not bigger) and other games. The other respondents just didn't get it.
Oh, and 1up may be a page in history now but Geekbox, Rebel FM, and GWJ are as cool as beans!
Jeff. Twitter. Seriously.
Indeed Jeff, get on Twitter. Then you can infotain us with what you had for breakfast and lunch as well.
What the hell is that up there? A Guild Wars 2 avatar?
Is that game still in development? I guess it must be. Haven't heard much about that one. I kind of forgot about it actually.
Anybody else here counting the days until Dragon Age? Because I sure am. I got my order in on a new i7 PC build on Friday - so I'm good to go.
I'm really looking forward to Empire: Total War, FEAR 2, and The Sims 3 as well. I'm also looking forward to hearing what Green has to say about The Sims 3 (I hope he blogs about it - hint, hint).
Jeff, obviously, like you said before, you've got to try and get on that team - with the economy tanking like this, I'd be worried that team members working on the lesser known titles (sorry, but I'm not sure what else to call them?) would be the first to be laid off, if indeed lay offs were necessary.
I don't mean to be brutal about this, but as a gamer, if I feel the need to spend less money on games during the course of the year, and have to cut the number of games I buy from twelve, down to, say, four, then you can bet that I'm only going to put my money down on major triple-A titles, such as Dragon Age, or Fallout 3, or indeed The Sims 3.
I guess this is a pretty obvious comment to make, but personally I'd feel much safer on The Sims 3 team than on the Sim Animals team.
But how do you position yourself within the company to do that?
It must be that everyone else is positioning themselves also? I'm sure that there must be an awful lot of smart cookies working there at EA.
Wait a second, I see how it works - you have to take poison with you to work and systematically start killing off your colleagues until positions start opening up.
Moose Jaw.
@Moose Jaw
Yep, I'm hoping its still being made. If I remember, there was something of a media blackout on Dragon Age as well. That looks like an awesome game though its (unfortunately)not in my budget. Empire, however, is. I'm eying an i7 for that.
But ya Jeff, make sure you're on the Sims 3 team. There is talk that EA might cancel the Hippo RPG in the works.
WoW, EvE, and even free MMO's like MapleStory survive due to low system requirements. So, what these games truely offer comes with the PC only: User generated content through social networking. That's what really makes this beautiful. Not his blackness. lol. Now, hang-on. Concerning the-man, the-myth, the-legend. Prior to the election, he said he wanted to seperate kids from their electronics?! Warning! Forget what you know about left and right for a second. This man could be the gamer anti-Christ. :)
Urock, this new Total War game looks stunning. The only thing I'm a bit worried about is that the screenshots are maybe a tad TOO impressive (especially those ship battles - those have got to be DX 10 effects that I'm seeing?).
I find that games that look great captured in still life don't always look so great in full motion - and vice versa too. Crysis, for example, doesn't actually look all that impressive in the screenshots, but when you see it in person you kind of go weak in the knees.
The other thing that worries me is my graphics card. I opted for a single 9800 GT with my i7 build. The plan is to replace that card with the new GTX 295 before the summer - that's a $700 card! You could almost buy a used car for that!
The GTX 295 will run Empire, but I'm convinced that the 9800 GT won't (or rather, it won't run Empire the way it was meant to be played - let's put it that way). Amazing how the 9800/8800 GT cards are suddenly becoming yesterday's news.
Anyhow, great, great time to be a PC gamer.
(I also can't wait to play Oblivion the way it was meant to be played - my old 3GHZ P4 never did run that game very well, even though the game informs me that, so far, I've spent one hundred and ten hours playing the thing! I was continuously fussing with the sliders in that game, trying to find a balance between looks and playability. What's really awesome though, is that I've got The Shivering Isles expansion waiting right here in the shrink wrap. So that'll be like playing an entirely new version of Oblivion! Great, great time to be a pc gamer.)

Why is Biden's rage bar full? Was he listening to the post-inaugural poetry?
