(BERKELEY,CA) The ratings are in, and it's official. With an overwhelmingly strong launch day yesterday, the Greenspeak blog is "the talk of the Internet" this morning, and "destined for greatness," according to at least one pundit, Greenspeak blog spokesperson Jeff Green, interviewed this morning in his half-empty office at soon-to-be former employer Ziff Davis Media, where he is still packing his belongings in between rounds of Peggle Nights.
"We've far exceeded early page view projections," Green said, "with well over 100 uniques in our first day alone." Clearly ebullient with his success, Green promises, nevertheless, that this is "only the beginning," and that, "as Bachman-Turner Overdrive once succinctly put it, you aint seen nothin' yet." Green promises to greatly expand the site's coverage in the coming weeks, with all kinds of exclusive coverage and information not currently available on other personal blogs. Currently, for example, one unique item on the page highlights what Green had had for dinner the previous evening. In the coming weeks, barring any unforeseen technical difficulties, Green plans to expand that coverage to include such things as what he had for lunch. Green did acknowledge, however, that for the website to really flourish, he was going to need to hire someone more aggressive to chase exclusives, but that this was still pending approval
Nevertheless, the launch was a clear success, and all signs point towards a healthy future.
"I'm really excited about what's in store," said Green. "I think with this blog, we can all agree that Web 3.0 has now officially begun."
We couldn't agree more.

Awesome. I SO can't wait to hear more! Like, maybe, what you had for breakfast!
LOL! WEB 3.0 CONFIRMED! Glad your blog will still be around. Still going to miss you on El Brodeo.
Web 3.0 indeed. Its wonderful to see Greenspeak updated two days in a row, hopefully that will continue! Can't wait, I didn't even pay attention to 1up.com in till your magazine was canceled, except for checking on the brodeo. Now i'll have to start paying attention to the sims franchise for motorcycle riding middle aged Jewish guy easter eggs. Hope that was part of your contract.
I think it's time we synergize with the underutilized Twitter. I would like to know where Dad is all the time everyday... please.
Is the Greenspeak blog planning expansion into network format? If so- I'd be interested adding to said synergism- allowing the development of advanced Web 3.0 at a rate of interest to the various venture parties. Who we'd ignore.
Congratulations on day two of regular content.
I think it would be great if you moved out of your office a week later than you are supposed to. That would probably be 'on time' for you, wouldn't it?
Looking forward to our new web 3.0 overlord. Please elaborate on your showering mechanics.
I've heard that this launch did better than Too Human... :D
The future is now!
Glad we haven't lost you for good, Jeff. But I certainly hope we still hear from you along with Elliot and Ryan on a quasi-regular basis.
GFW was the last great hope of 1up. At least for me, and your loss is a massive...uh...loss.
But I wish you the best in your new career, and when the great Activision/EA hostile take-over wars of 2112 begin, may you avoid the hounds. And javelins. Which shouldn't be hard. I imagine game programmers can't throw very hard.
I lol'd
Only hours after the LHC was activated we see results like this. I say it was worth the risk.
This blog represents a paradigm shift, the likes of which we've never seen before.
I can't wait until Jeff starts posting links to websites he finds interesting, and then they go down under the deluge of legions of "Greenspeakers" (WE ARE NOT "Greenspeakies"!!!) clicking the links.
We need a phrase to describe this type action... "That website was GREENSPEAKED!" Yeah, that has a nice ring to it.
wow, I thought I was going to have to wait all day for another post. way to be on top of it BD. lets see how next week treats us all as the flush of a new blog leaves you.
also, we need your spore ID mr. Green.
My Spore ID is DOOFAEUS
Wooo Woooo!
Hmmmmmm, what kind of pasta I do wonder....
Love you Green, keep on rocking, I will be reading this daily.
Jeff!!! You're Bloggin'!! I'm so proud. I remember when I started my first blog 10 years ago. I did it in Frontpage and hated it. I was dying to find an easy online one and eventually found blogger.
Anyway, I'll add this to my RSS feeds. No need for 1Up now anymore. You know you have so many followers, you can probably have a good Twitter following. Maybe a network of blogs. You can take over the world!!!!
I'll shut up now. Gratz on the blog man.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop Jeff. I will probably be adding you on Spore as well.
hey Jeff, your DL.TV Spore review was "explosive" :D
Jeff, you're like a rock star to me. I mean that in the gayest way possible. You and all the guys on GFW radio are my idols. It sucks that you've left Ziff. You should go back to the Brodeo via Skype or something. It won't be the same without you.
Man, now I'll have to read this too. Dammit, Jeff.
Congrats Jeff! Soon you will have to leave EA to start your own Blogging Empire! Watch out Robert Scoble!
Make sure to tell us when you poo as well.
Good luck with your new adventure! I've been a fan of your work for ages; thanks for all the humor and insight.
Also--for everyone else reading this--I have leaked information from a friend of a friend who works in the industry that Chinese food may be on Jeff's dinner menu tomorrow night.
I look forward to reading your daily adventures if science doesn't kill us all. Have you considered eating the Large Hadron Collider for dinner?
It's nice to see some more Blogger love. I use it for my site and I must say it kicks major ovaries (ass is so Web 2.0). Best of luck at EA Jeff!
Good luck Jeff. I've certainly enjoyed your works and wish you the best of luck at EA.
The thunder clap rolled down the rain-soaked hills and awoke him with a start. A few moments of terror passed before he released where he was and he shifted back underneath his blankets. He congratulated himself on finishing his little cabin before the weather turned against him and tried to return to sleep. Aided by the soothing patter of rain and the warmth of his bed, his return was swift.
What kind of pasta did you have with your tomato sauce anyways, Jeff? I'm a tortellini kind of guy, myself.
awesome!!!!
thanks for continuing your writing on the internet!!
Hey Jeff
curse you for getting me really into GFW Radio only to pull the rug away from under my feet!
But seriously, BOOKMARKED. Looking forward to reading about the further adventures of.
Greenspeak is back to do two things; kick ass and chew bubble gum.
You ran out of bubble gum a long time ago, Mr. Green.
Haha, good stuff
Jeff what do you think of Ensemble closing down after Halo Wars is done? I know what I think; Fuck that noise.
Ehhh, on the Objective-fun-o-meter I'd say it was about a C- in terms of launches.
Any chance we see any Wiimote waggle functionality on your blog?
I hear the kids go ga-ga over that kind of stuff
Congratulations on your evening meal last night. Pasta approval ratings are through the roof.
Is it a bit too hopeful to be waiting for when I can get updates on your, you know, regularity?
This blog is so yesterday.
Jeff Green = The godfather of Web 3.0...

Ack, I'm late to party on this one but I wanted to say how sad it is to see you leave 1up. Thanks for new blog though and if you manage to get with the rest of gfw crew on skype, I'd pay for a podcast. Throw it up on lulu.com, or anywhere, as a $2 download and I'd support you guys. Good luck, thanks for all the fun, and I'll make sure to watch your blog.
Pasta with tomato sauce? What did you have for lunch? Bread with lettuce?
Long live the once and future internet king guy!
love you buddy...but please get an IT friend and build your own blog..this blog is awful...
hehe wow... two posts already. But I'm not relaxing Sir Jeffery! I know how that goes... I relax and BOOM no posts for two months because you're "busy" and "want to spend time with the family" ...psshh. -I- won't get fooled again!
oh shit, the suits at EA have already got to him....
Where the hell is Booger Patrol? I've told you a thousand times, it's not a party till Booger Patrol gets here.
Or as the German say:
"it' s nicht das eine Partei bis Booger-Patrouille hier erhält!"

Vote Jeff Green for Internet President.
>.<
"It's what GAMERS DO WANT!"
[insert inane adulant comment here] - you can make up your own praise Jeff. You've earned it. Wait, that's just what you did in your post.
So glad I'm still going to get to read your thoughts.
This is late, but thanks again so much for all the fun years at CGW and GFW. Continue to be awesome!
Aces! Keep the updates regular :-D
This has nothing to do with this particular post, but I thought Jeff might find this article interesting.: http://gizmodo.com/5038783/worlds-largest-record-collection-is-worth-50-million-no-one-wants-it-for-3-million
Jeff Green.
Love me.
Hear me.
Touch me.
Breath me.
Post often.
Podcast.
Awesome! It's already my favorite blog on the net! You crazy lovable Svengali, you hypnotized me!
As I said in your old blog, it really does feel like I've known you forever. Was a reader of CGW since 1996 and you've been my favorite games writer for as long as I can recall picking your name from those articles. I'm happy to see the blogging continues! =)
Do you have an official "Greanspeak Army" fan club? I was a member of the Kiss Army back in the 70's and thought maybe you should have something like that, complete with a Jeff Green comic printed with your blood and an embarrassing logo patch for my boss denim jacket!
This is more like web 2.75.
Jeff Green: Harbinger of Web 3.0!
How does it feel being a rock star, Jeff?
Glad to see the success of the new Blog. Really though, was there ever any doubt?
Hummmmmmm, what kind of chili I do wonder....
Amazing second post. :)
Funny stuff! Can't wait to read more.
Hey, Jeff.
You should consider a WordPress or something. I hate these here Googley Blogs. I'll miss you on GFW Radio, but I'll check back here.
Good luck in your new job.
As a 1up listener and reader I'll certainly miss your amusing liveblogs and the strangely entertaining chemistry of the podcast. Please encourage the remaining fools to continue, it's a truly valuable little bubble of criticism and inanity. Really sorry about the loss of the magazine, when one bright day we do see the 'Atlantic Monthly' of videogames, your publication and the work you've done will no doubt be remembered fondly.
Of course, so long as Greenspeak continues your voice will still ring out, I really hope you're able to continue writing with some regularity. Your latest post had me laughing out loud (an awkward thing to do while wearing headphones in a quiet japanese-style workplace) and I've always really appreciated your perspective as someone who is both a videogames enthusiast and a (seemingly) reasonable adult. Even more than that, as a fellow developer I look forward to hearing about your adventures from the belly of The Sims. Soon you too may glimpse the mechanisms by which unwise or foolish decisions are made within a company. :)
That aside, it seems like it may be an interesting opportunity at an interesting time. Given that the SIms studio is one of only a handful of large videogame studios to really understand both videogames and the web, and given the widespread adoption of web 2.0 type interactions, the future is certainly bright for the Sims . With Rod Humble at the helm - a guy with a solid understanding of the potential of videogames as entertainment and as an emerging artform - there might even be some intriguing surprises in store for the core audiences and the art-house crowd.
All the best,
c
am I the only one reading greenspeak as green's peak? also! thanks for the many laughs on GFW. I'll be sure and follow your new blog.
Peggle Nights?
Fuck you Jeff!
Seriously, this looks pretty cool, but it's time to step it up already, EA Brodeo ftw.

El. Oh. El.
Getting your last bit of 'press release reporting' out of your system, eh?
I love how this is framed as a news paper article. I can't wait for confirmation on boxers or briefs.
YEAH JEFF GREENSPEAK CAN BECOME THE GRODEO
