It will be awesome when this blog gets WAY more traffic than any of the "PC Gaming" section does on 1Up

Yeah, Green, gotta get those clicks!

Congrats Cowboy! :-)

While I love The Great Escape, (spoiler alert)

You do realize the guy you show in the picture goes back to the camp shortly after the jump right?

Does this mean you aren't leaving the Brodeo?

Jeff Green said...

LOL bluerook. Let's not analyze this too deeply.

Are you sure your not with the group of guys who get gunned down in the field!
Good luck Jeff, you will be sorely missed at 1up and the podcasts...

Excellent photo choice. We also would have accepted this, this, or this.

Hope your future taskmasters are kind enough to let you continue to contribute to podcasts such as the Brodeo when you find some free time. In the mean time i'll be clicking your links on here.

Also, there seemed to be some doubt as to whether GFW radio would carry on. I dearly hope it does, for me it was the flagship of the 1UP podcasts, and I'm sure they'll find a way to keep it just as awesome without the G-Man.

Hey Jeff,

while I'm really bummed that you left 1UP, I'm also really happy for you, because you seem to be pleased with where you're going.

I also think it's cool that you have a blog that's not on 1UP, so you can probably express yourself a bit more openly.

BTW, I noticed that you are playing Final Fantasy IV, any thoughts?

So, I'm walking around in Spore and these giant pink things land next to me. About ten seconds later they kick the crap out of my little creature. Thought I should let you know your creations are conquering my planet.

Curse you Green! From your one of your last 1up blogs you've got me hooked on the Grateful Dead now. Oh and if you didn't have any asiago cheese than that's no fine selection in my books.

THAT'S A FUCKING 50 DKP MINUS!

So are you feeling that "new job feeling" yet? Fear, excitement, awkwardness, knot-in-stomach sort of thing? It'll pass in a few days, but then invariably in 3 weeks you'll commit a minor fuck up or have a faux pax and the feeling comes back for a few hours :-)

I keed, I keed. I'm sure you're gonna do great. EA just became a cooler place, man.

Hope you have a good last day, Jeff. We'll miss you, man. Thanks for having us to your blog, though.

Suddenly I don't feel so old because I have no idea where that picture is from. Thanks :)

While I never read any of your magazine until the very last issue (and of course, I thought of subscribing... oops...), it was a pleasure listening to you on the podcasts. Good luck at EA...

Free at last huh.
And next week you don´t have to stand in a coffe line on your way to work.
You can get any kind of coffe for free, prepared for you by EAs skilled baristas.

Exiting stuff :)

Motorcycles? Pfeh. Some guy aced himself on 237 this morning; he ran directly into the back of a fertilizer truck and caused both himself and the truck to explode.

I can't help but wonder if his last thought wasn't "OH, SHIT!"

Nothin' wrong with Steve McQueen.

Corey Chaplan said...

Oh man that was on AMC a couple days ago. Great flick.

Grubber said...

Steve McQueen said he wouldn't do the movie unless there was a motorcycle scene. Are you saying that you're negotiating your EA contract in a similar fashion? ...but instead of a motorcycle scene, like, a mandatory release of a SIMS, Third World Bonanza! expansion?

Grubber said...

P.S. I'd buy it

Congrats there, Jeff. A picture truly is worth a thousand words.

And that, as they say, is that. Thanks again for all the years of brilliance, Jeff. Enjoy the time off before "real" work kicks in.

Hey there, Jeff. I have to say, i started my subscription to GFW magazine late in the day, but it quickly became my favourite mag, and i was absolutely CRUSHED when it got canceled. I can completely understand your leaving 1up and Ziff, even if it does break my heart. I will admit truthfully that listening to that last Brodeo, when the guys all started talking about how much they were gonna miss you, I seriously got choked up, and had to stop listening lest a tear fall from my eye. (this is no joke, man). Anyway, enough of this whimpyness. EA has just become a better company with you on board, and after listening to the podcast with Mr. Humble, I too would follow him anywhere.

You have a great taste in games, movies, music and TV. You da man, Jeff.

Hey Jeff if you read this I hope it's cool that i added a link to your Blog from mine. The Expectant Gamer!

It's like setting the caged bird free... Better for him, meanwhile leaving a void for us. Best wishes!

I've directed my minor personal army of readers to you, Jeff. Of course half of them are probably here already. In any case, The Green Legion marches on!

Anonymous said...

2 days ago, huh. Wow. Have I been reading this blog that long. It seems like only yesterday you were still at 1up. Oh the memories. Where has the time gone?

Jim said...

Jeff, maybe I missed it, but have you explained what exactly your new job is? at EA with the sims team, but doing what? Will you be able to say eventually?

and are you done updating the 1up page, so I can remove it from my RSS?

Bitch clicks.

+1 CLICK.

I just love it. Didn't I hear this very suggestion from the 1st podcast following the close of the magazine? hmmm...

MrCHUPON said...

Ride off into that sunset... ...and happily into EA's studios ^_^ How are you enjoying FFIV?

Anonymous said...

Jeff, I've said before that ZD (which has been falling as long as I can remember) is like watching a slow-motion trainwreck, with 1UP somewhere in the rear with nothing to do but watching as the wreckage slowly creeping towards them.

With your departure, there's a hole in the site now. The caboose is still there, but the complimentary alcoholic beverage service is now gone, so why stick around?

Godspeed, Nick Furry, and remember the Brodeo.

All the best for the future mate! I will certainly miss your comedy and opinions while driving around.

was looking at the what you're reading section, and from what you said on the podcast, I think I'm going to give the series a go...right after I finish Neuromancer..

as for the pic..I hope you do better than McQueen did in trying to jump the fence.. :)

Eric Majkut said...

Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life, Jeff.

Best of luck :)

Awesome choice of pic Jeff

Looking forward to hearing how the first week at the Sims goes.

It IS like escaping from a Nazi POW camp, isn't it?

A well planned and executed escape, sir.

Also - VERY glad to see another man-among-men who enjoys the excellence of Project Runway. I'm disappointed in the talent this season. You?
